I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
